Orlando, Florida – After more than four decades, the Lake County Sheriff's Office has finally identified the remains of Rebecca Sue Hill, a teenager who went missing from Little Rock in 1981.

The remains, previously known as "Judy Doe," were found near a dirt road in Altoona, Florida, in April 1984

Rebecca Sue Hill was approximately 16 or 17 years old when she disappeared. Despite multiple efforts to identify the body using skeletal recreations, dental records, and DNA, the case remained unsolved until recently

In November 2023, the sheriff's office contracted Othram, Inc., a private laboratory specializing in forensic genetic genealogy, to help solve the case.

Through extensive genealogical testing, Othram was able to identify potential family members and obtain DNA samples for comparison. In December 2024, the results confirmed that "Judy Doe" was indeed Rebecca Sue Hill.

The sheriff's office has since contacted the Little Rock Police Department to further investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and suspected homicide.

Detectives believe that Rebecca's death was a homicide and are actively working to uncover more details about her case.
