Delaware County mean dead after accident in Central Arkansas on Thursday



A 70-year-old Delaware County man is dead after an accident in central Arkansas that occurred Thursday afternoon in the city of Maysville.


The Benton County Sheriff's office and the Arkansas State Police responded to an accident rads on State Highway 43 a few thousand yards North of State Highway 102 in Benton County at 12:35 p.m. Thursday to investigate a one vehicle crash.


According to the preliminary report posted by the Arkansas State Police Robert L. Scott of Jay Oklahoma was driving a 2017 Jeep Cherokee southbound on State Highway 43 just north of State Highway 102.


The Jeep traveled off the left side of the roadway sinner of the vehicle impacted a tree. The Jeep came to rest facing Northwest off the north side of the highway.


ASP Trooper Brandon A Walker worked the accident for that agency and noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the accident.


Scott was pronounced dead at the scene bd his body was held at the Benton County Coroner's office.



The fatality marked the 34th of the year already for 2024 on Arkansas roads and highways.
