At approximately 4AM on Tuesday, February 16, Fort Smith Police were called to assist the Fort Smith Fire Department and EMS on a structure fire at the 600 block of North 13th Street.
Two victims were discovered at a residence, a 39-year-old male and a 33-year-old female.
The female, Haley L. Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim, whose name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications, was life-flighted to a hospital outside of our region.
There are no further updates on his condition at this time.
This joint investigation of the Fire Marshal and FSPD is ongoing, and more information will be released at its conclusion.
