An accident that occurred Wednesday night on a rural stretch of state highway in Scott County has taken the life of a 43-year-old Danville woman, according to the Arkansas State Police.

The one vehicle accident occured at 12;17 pm Wednesday near the intersection of State Highway 80 and Cold Springs Road.

Kristy K. Shrum, 43, of Danville, was driving a 2003 Jeep Laredo east on Arkansas state Highway 80 when the Jeep ran off the right side of the road. Due to the steep embankment, the Jeep rolled several times, according to the report filed by investigating trooper Mike Lance.

Lance noted in the report that Shrum was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident, which resulted in the 604th Arkansas roadway fatality of the year.
