Crawford County accident claims Little Rock man early Monday morning on I540 near Alma

The Arkansas State Police says a 35-year-old Little Rock resident was killed in the early morning hours of Tuesday morning on I40 east of of Alma.

According to the ASP preliminary report, Stacy Wayne Smith was driving westbound on I40 in a 2011 Chevrolet when the vehicle left the roadway near the Rudy Road exit, ran up an embankment and struck a tree.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner's Office.

Trooper Rafeala Guerra noted clear weather and dry roads at the time of the accident.
