CONWAY, Ark. – March 24, 2025 – A Faulkner County courtroom delivered justice last week when Charles Aaron Wiley, a 44-year-old Greenbrier resident, was sentenced to 120 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Wiley pleaded guilty on March 14 to one count of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, stemming from a tense confrontation with Greenbrier Police Department (GPD) officers nearly two years ago.

The incident traces back to May 10, 2023, when GPD officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Mountain Drive in Greenbrier. Arriving at the scene, they found a woman standing outside the residence, visibly shaken. Wiley, meanwhile, had retreated inside, shutting the garage door behind him and barricading himself in a bedroom.

As officers approached the house and issued verbal commands, the situation escalated. From inside the bedroom, Wiley fired a single gunshot toward the officers and the woman outside. Miraculously, no one was struck by the bullet. Officers swiftly entered the home and apprehended Wiley without further incident, taking him into custody.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division took charge of the case. Their investigation culminated in Wiley’s guilty plea and sentencing earlier this month.
