Colorado man killed on Pig Trail (SH 23) at Cass near intersection of State Highway 215 in rural Franklin County

A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Colorado man on Thursday at approximately 11:55 a.m. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Highway 23 and State Highway 215 in Franklin County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Christopher Maurer of Parker, Colorado, was riding a 1989 Harley-Davidson southbound on State Highway 23. While navigating a right curve, Maurer lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to flip.
He was ejected from the vehicle, which then struck a tree. Maurer was pronounced deceased at the scene. Emergency responders transported Maurer’s body to Schaffer’s Funeral Home.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office notified his next of kin.
The weather was clear, and the road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, which was investigated by Corporal Michael Bowman of the Arkansas State Police.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
