Coty Eric Cameron was just 31 years old when his life was violently taken on September 12 2016, in Scranton (Logan County).
A resident of northern Logan County, he was found deceased outside his home on East State Highway 288 near Prairie View by a family member that evening. He had been last seen alive that same morning. The Arkansas State Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
Cameron was born on September 13, 1984, in Fort Smith, left behind two young children--a daughter named Bailey Raelynn Cameron and a son named Branson Kent Cameron. He was employed at River Valley Animal Clinic and was known to his family as a devoted father and beloved community member.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office investigated the case with assistance from the Arkansas State Police. Despite years of work by investigators, the person or persons responsible for his murder have not been brought to justice. This case remains an active cold case with Arkansas State Police database.

Family members have continued to seek answers and justice in the years since the killing. They have spoken publicly about the profound impact on their lives, especially on Coty's children who grew up without their father. Community posts marking anniversaries have highlighted the ongoing pain and the need for information from anyone who may know something about that day.
In the days immediately after homicide, Logan County Sheriffs Office investigators stated they had several persons of interest. They interviewed multiple people, including Camerons girlfriend at the time. No one was taken into custody, and no specific individual has been named publicly as a suspect in the years since.
Early reports noted that deputies had responded previously to Camerons residence for domestic-related calls and misdemeanor issues, but these details were not linked to a specific motive or perpetrator in public statements.
