The Arkansas State Police (ASP) continues to investigate the unsolved homicide of Freddy Moss, a 67-year-old white male found dead in his Murfreesboro home on September 26, 2011.
Moss was discovered deceased in a recliner at his residence on Cooper Loop Cutoff, located approximately midway between Delight and Murfreesboro in Pike County.
He had sustained multiple stab wounds, which an autopsy at the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock confirmed as the cause of death.
Authorities noted that the wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted, ruling out suicide.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office requested ASP assistance in the investigation, which is documented under case number CID-C-06801-11. The ASP, in collaboration with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the South Central Drug Task Force, conducted the initial investigation.
Sheriff Travis Glenn stated at the time that the homicide did not appear to be drug-related, though no motive or suspects were publicly identified.
The killing marked the third apparent homicide in Pike County within a 15-day period in September 2011, following the second-degree murder charge against Ryan Nutt for a fatal stabbing in Amity on September 11 and the death of 2-year-old Karsen Strickland in Glenwood on September 12 due to suspected abuse.

The ASP Cold Case Unit, established in 2020 to review unresolved homicides, continues to handle the case, leveraging advancements in forensic technology to seek new leads.
The ASP urges anyone with information to contact Company C at (870) 777-8944 or submit tips anonymously via the ASP Cold Case website at https://www.dps.arkansas.gov/law-enforcement/arkansas-state-police/divisions/criminal-investigations/arkansas-state-police-cold-cases.
Despite the passage of over 13 years, no arrests have been made, and the case remains open. The ASP Cold Case Unit remains committed to pursuing justice for Freddy Moss and his loved ones.
