Clarksville 93-year-old dies as the result of one-vehicle crash in Johnson County
A 93-year-old Clarksville man is dead after a Thursday afternoon crash in rural Johnson County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
An ASP preliminary report says Dennis Willis was driving a 1997 Dodge 1500 south on Highway 103 around 2:39 p.m., Thursday afternoon when he failed to negotiate a curve, and drove off the west side of the roadway. The truck then sideswiped a utility pole before spinning spin counter-clockwise and impacting aa tree.
Willis was later pronounced dead by the Johnson County Coroner's Office.
Trooper Bryan Syfert noted conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
The death of Willis is the 46th of the year on Arkansas roadways.
