A chaotic four vehicle accident Saturday night on West Mount Comfort Road in Fayetteville took the life of a 43-year-old motorcyclist according to information provided by the Arkansas State Police.
A preliminary ASP report says Zachary Salley, 43, of Fayetteville, was westbound on a 2003 Harley-Davidson at just after 6:00 p.m. Saturday night. Two other motorcycles, a 2012 Honda and a 2014 Honda or also involved in the crash.
According to the report, the 2012 Honda was stopped in the eastbound lane attempting to make a left turn into the driveway at 2840 West Mt. Comfort Road. The 2014 Honda was stopped behind the 2012 bike and a 2008 Ford was traveling eastbound behind the two motorcycles. The driver of the Ford failed to observe the stopped motorcycles in front of his travel path and swerved left.
The car's front right impacted the left rear of the 2014 Honda. The 2012 switched lanes in an attempt to avoid that crash and impacted the Harley-Davidson traveling westbound head on.
Sally was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County coroner's office.
Officer Ethan maybe of the Fayetteville Police Department work the accident and said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of impact.
Salley's death represents the 383rd of the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
