A 60-year-old Greenwood cement truck driver is dead as the result of a two vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Crawford County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Charles E. Brunson was killed in the accident, which occurred at 2:39 p.m. near Mile Marker 1 of I540 in Van Buren. According to the report, the truck was northbound when it collided with a 2020 Dodge that was also northbound on the highway.
Police say after the collision, the cement truck went off the right side of the road and came to rest on its top facing south. The driver of the Dodge was able to navigate their vehicle to the shoulder of the road and was not injured.
Trooper Michael Bowman worked the accident and noted clear conditions and dry pavement at the time of the crash.
