Booneville woman killed in accident Friday afternoon in Logan County

A 58-year-old Booneville woman died as the result of a two vehicle crash Friday afternoon inn Logan County according to information obt0raijed for the Arkansas State Police.

Brenda Gray-Barnes, a former recreational leader at the Booneville Human Development Center has been identified as the victim of the accident that occurred at 2:18 p.m. Friday at 2667 South State Highway 217 in Booneville.

The ASP preliminary report says Gray-Barnes was driving a 2006 Ford west on SH 217 when she failed to yield on a right hand turn and the vehicle was struck by a northbound Kawasaki.

The impact caused Gray-Barnes to be ejected from her vehicle before both of the involved vehicles came to rest in the ditch on the north side of he road.

Gray-Barnes' death is the 99th of the year on Arkansas roadways.
