The Boone County sheriff's office is reporting an investigation into an early Monday morning fire in the Bergman community that involved a fatality.
According to information from the Boone County Sheriff's Office the Bergman Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at 3582 Highway 7 North in Boone County. Mutual aid was requested with the fire due the house being fully engulfed.
Both the Harrison and Cottonwood fire departments responded to assist information provided to responders was that two adults and one juvenile were able to escape the fire.
According to Boone County sheriff Roy Martin a 6-year-old that was asleep in the home died in the blaze.
The body of the juvenile is being transported to the Medical Examiner's office in Little Rock to determine the exact cause of death and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
