Bethel Heights 33-year-old arrested on warrant issued last week for Rape and Sexual Assault

Daniel Bernardo Aquilar

A Bethel Heights 33-year-old man was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff Office on Tuesday on two sexual related charges and a Failure to Appear warrant out of West Fork, according to information from the WCSO.

Daniel Bernardo Aquilar, who lives in the 400 block of Muroe Driver in Bethel Heights, was the subject of a felony warrant issued last Thursday by Washington County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Micka Hatcher. He was booked into the WCDC on Tuesday at just after 4 p.m and charged with one count of Rape and a second count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree.

The Sexual Assault in the Second Degree usually indicates sexual contact with a minor or a person who is incapable of consenting to such activities. A source who knows Aguilar told today in Fort Smith that the assault was on a minor child.

Aguilar remains behind bars as of 7 p.m. Wednesday on $30,085 of bonds and a no-bond hold on the Sexual Assault. His court date on the Rape charge has been set for August 4.

Very few details have been released about the incident and arrest.

This is a developing story.
