A Bentonville man sits behind bars without bond after police arrested him Monday on a string of grave felony charges that include rape, sexual extortion, second-degree sexual assault, and concealing the birth of a child.
Wade Green, 43, was taken into custody by Bentonville police on November 10, 2025, and booked into the Benton County Detention Center the same day. Jail records list four charges against him: sexual extortion, concealing birth, rape, and sexual assault in the second degree.
Each count carries a no-bond hold, ensuring Green remains in custody until he appears before a judge.
The rape charge alone is a Class Y felony in Arkansas, punishable by ten years to life in prison. The presence of concealing birth, a seldom-seen statute that applies when someone secretly disposes of a dead infant, has raised quiet alarm among those following the case.
Authorities have released no details about the circumstances that led to the allegations, and no probable-cause affidavit had been made public as of Tuesday afternoon
Bentonville police have declined to comment beyond confirming the arrest, citing an active investigation. Formal charges have not yet appeared in Benton County Circuit Court dockets, which is typical in the hours immediately following a major arrest.
Green is expected to make his first court appearance within the next few days. Until then, the tight-lipped probe leaves the northwest Arkansas community waiting for answers about what investigators believe happened and who may have been harmed.
