Bentonville crash Thursday morning proves fatal to 31-year-old Rogers man






The Arkansas Department of Public Safety posted a preliminary report Friday morning concerning an accident that occurred Thursday morning in Bentonville that resulted in the death of one person and the hospitalization of another.


According to a eport submitted by the Centerton Police Department 31-yea r-old Jeffrey Beierle of Rogers was driving a 2006 Honda Odyssey northbound on Greenhouse Road inside the city limits of Bentonville Thursday morning. The Odyssey hit a curb and crossed the centerline upon over-correction, striking a 2004 Toyota Tundra driven by 70-year-old Jere Seifritz of Centerton head on.


The force of the accident was such that both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. They both were taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville where Beierle was later pronounced dead.


Seifritz was hospitalized with unspecified injuries in unknown condition.


Centerton officer Cassandra Bridestine worked the accident and noted foggy and rainy conditions and a wet roadway as possible contributors to the crash.


The Friday death pushes the total number of fatalities year to date due  to accidents in f Arkansas to twenty-two.
