Benton County sex offender from Texas nailed for failing to keep registration current

A 58-year-old Benton County resident was taken into custody on Monday and charged with Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and one count of Domestic Battery in the second Degree according to information from the Benton County Sheriff Office.

Daniel Keith Quiniones, who has been a registered sex offender since a 1995 conviction in Mason County, Texas for the sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman, was already out on bond awaiting a trial for an arrest of September of last years for Manufacture of a Controlled Substance. He was registered with a last known address of 298 Graystone Circle in Centerton

He remained jailed on Wednesday morning on a no-bond hold

Quinones was arrested in September of last year after officers responded to a school where one of his grandchildren was a student to investigate a possible child abuse incident. A teacher at the school related that while she was singing "rain, rain, go away" to the juvenile in an effort to calm them down until police arrived, the child had replied "we don't want the rain to go away so my grandfather's weed will grow".

Quinines, who has a medical marijuana card in both Arkansas and Illinois was not arrested at that time, but ten days later a probable cause warrant was issued and he was taken into custody.

Quinines also has a criminal record out of the state of Illinois.
