Benton County man arrested for failing to report as sex offender

A Benton County sex offender, whose last known address was in Rogers, was arrested Thursday and faces charge fior Faluire to Appear as a Sex Offender according to booking information from the Benton County Sheriff Office.

Richard David Judy, 38, whio was convicted in 2000 of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, had a previous arrest in 2017 for Failure to Comply with the Registration Requirements as well.

He also received charges on his Thursday arrest for DWI and Possessing Drug Paraphernalia.

For his original crime in 2000, Judy was sentenced to just four months in jail and received 72 months of probation.

A cursory check of Judy statewide and Bention County shows no address or even a registration as a sex offender. We were able to locat a 2008 registration from Florida.

He remains jailed in the BCDC in lieu of a $6000 combo bond, including $1000 in cash.
