The Arkansas State Police say one person is dead and two others suffered injuries that sent them to a Springfield hospital after a Sunday two vehicle wreck in Benton County.
The preliminary report from the ASP says that 46-year-old Yvonne Rogers of Fairview. Missouri was a passenger in a 1967 Chevrolet Nova that was southbound on State Highway 94 near the intersection with Lancashire Road in a rural part of the county.
Police say the Nova, driven by 47-year-old Charles Rogers also of Fairview. failed to negotiate a curve causing it to skid into the path of a 2007 Ford Edge driven by Joseph Anderson of Pea Ridge.
After the vehicle's impacted they both left the roadway on the east side where they both came to rest.
Yvonne Rogers died from her injuries. Her husband Charles and Joseph Anderson were both transported to Mercy hospital in Springfield Missouri with unspecified injuries.
ASP Trooper Jerry McCormick noted clear weather conditions and a dry payment at the time of the crash.
At the time of the death, it was a 527th of the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
