The Arkansas State Police has released information after a 48-hour delay pending notification of next of kin  on a automobile accident that took the life of a 65 year old Benton County woman earlier in the week.

According to information supplied by the Arkansas State Police through the Arkansas Department of Public Safety website, 65-year-old Martha Delgado of Siloam Springs was killed Monday in a two-car collision that occurred on North Progress Avenue at the intersection of East US Highway 412 inside the city limits of Siloam Springs.

The report says Delgado was driving a 2011 Mazda MS southbound on North Progress Avenue when a 2008 Nissan disregarded a stoplight on US Highway 412 and struck her vehicle.

The Delgado vehicle was in the intersection at the time of the impact.

In addition to the death of Delgado, three unnamed minors who were in the Delgado vehicle were also taking the Arkansas Children's Hospital and Western Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Sergeant Nate Vanpaepeghemn of the Siloam Springs Police Department worked the accident and noted rainy conditions and a wet pavement at the time of the accident.

According to that report the vehicles collided at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Monday night.
