A Northwest Arkansas resident who was arrested by the Rogers Police Deportment on Thursday faces two felony counts of Distributing, Possessing or Viewing Sexually Explicit Materials Depicting a Child and one count of Producing or Directing a Sexual Performance of a Child Less than 17 according to booking information from the Benton County Sheriff Office.
Dale Edward Mayer was booked into the Benton County Detention Center on Thursday and remains behind bars on a no-bond hold on all three of the charges while he awaits a bond hearing. A second charge of Distributing, Possessing or Viewing Sexually Explicit Materials Depicting a Child was added to his charges sometime on Friday.
A Dale Edward Mayer with the same date of birth was apparently arrested in October of 2009 in Lake County Florida for similar crimes. Online records and tracing former addresses reveal that the man arrested in Florida for Video Voyeurism and Loitering is the same man.
If Mayer was convicted on that crime, then he should be a Registered Sex Offender with the state of Arkansas, the state of Florida, or in national databases. Extensive searches online do not produce a sex offender registration for Mayer.
If he was convicted in Florida, the he may face additional charges for failing to register.
