ASP: Seventy-year-old Harrison man killed Monday in head-on collision on U.S. Highway 62/65

A three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 62/65 in Harrison, claimed the life of a local man on Monday morning, (February 16, 2026.0


According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety and Harrison Police Department reports, 70-year-old William G. Elting of Harrison was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado northbound around 8:35 a.m. when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2024 Ram 2500.


The impact pushed the second vehicle into a third southbound vehicle, a 2014 Ram 2500 driven by 54-year-old Eric G. Kirk of Bolivar.


Conditions were clear with dry roads at the time of the accident.


Elting was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body was held by the Boone County Coroner. Information on the accident being released due to notification of next of kin.


Kirk sustained injuries and was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison for treatment.


The craswas invesigated by Harrison Police Department, with Corporal Christopher J. Hill leading the inquiry.


Authorities have not released additional details on potential contributing factors.
