The Arkansas State Police has released details on accident that occurred on March 11th in the city of Springdale that took the life of one man and sent an area woman to the hospital.
According to a report filed Monday by the Arkansas State Police, 32-year-old Alberto Flores of Springdale was driving a 2001 Honda Accord eastbound on West Don Tyson Parkway just after 7:00 p.m. Saturday night when the accident occurred.
The ASP report states Flores crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Joyce Marie Venable, 76, of Springdale. According to law enforcement officials, the head-on crash left Flores dead at the scene.
Venab;lee was transported to the Washington County Regional Medical center in Fayetteville where she was traded for unspecified injuries.
The Springdale Police said the weather conditions were cloudy and rainy at the time of the accident and the roadway was wet.
The death of Flores is the 102nd of the year in 95 fatal accidents.
