ASP releases information on deadly Thursday csr-motorcycle crash that killed Fayetteville man

The Arkansas State Police reports a collision on West Highway 62 near Apple Hill in Prairie Grove resulted in the death of a Fayetteville man Thursday afternoon.


The crash occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m. when a 2005 Jeep traveling westbound began turning onto Apple Hill Road. As the vehicle initiated its turn, it struck an eastbound 2004 Yamaha motorcycle.


The impact ejected the motorcyclist, identified as 38-year-old Travis Samples of Fayetteville, who was pronounced dead at the scene.


No other injuries were reported.


Prairie Grove Police Department Officer Matthew Epps l,vestogated the accident. AND SAID Weather and road conditions at the time were clear and dry.

Samples’ body was transported to Memorial Funeral Home, and next of kin have been notified. The incident marks the 318th fatality on Arkansas roads this year, according to state records.
