ASP officials join Pike County law enforcement in investigating Tuesday murder

The apparent murder of a 63 year-old Pike County woman has led state police Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents to join in the investigation.  The body of Theresa Humphry was found at her home this morning. Pike County Sheriff’s Deputies located the body at 307 Billstown Road in Delight and requested the Arkansas State Police to assist them in the criminal investigation. A 39 year-old man has been taken into custody and is being held at the Pike County Jail while the investigation continues. The only 39-year-old detainee in Pike County morning is Jason Thomas Humphrey, who is being held on an unspecified felony charge as of this morning.

Special Agents expect to submit information to the Pike County prosecuting attorney for the consideration of formal charges.

Humphrey’s body is being transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for determination of the manner and cause of death.
