ASP: Mena man dead after 1:31 am motorcycle accident Saturday morning Iin rural Polk County

The Arkansas State Police is reporting a 49-year-old Mena man died early Saturday morning because of a motorcycle accident in rural Polk County.
According to a preliminary accident report from the Arkansas State Police and the Department of Public Safety, Robert W. Doty of Mena was westbound on State Highway 8 on a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a left-handed curve on the highway. The Motorcycle ran off the southwest side of the road and struck a boulder.
Doty was thrown clear o the motofrcycle and was declared dead at the scene by the Polk County coroner's office
The accident occurred on State highway 8 West near Polk County road 135 at 121 a.m.
ASP trooper Seth Smedley said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the fatal accident.
