ASP finally posts accident report for June 6 accident on Dean Springs Road that resulted in fatality

Nine days after a single vehicle crash took the life of a Fort Smith man on Dean Springs Road north of Alma, the Arkansas State Police finally posted a preli9nary report on an accident we first told you about on June 6.

On Sunday June 6, we told you we had learned of an accident with a fatality reported to us by one of our sources. For some unknown reason the report was not posted on the Arkansas State police website until this morning.

According to that information, 24-year-old Dylan Dutton of Fort Smith was driving a 2001 Fort Ranger eastbound on Dean Springs Road when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The truck struck a guardrail and a tree, and Dutton was transported to Mercy Fort Smith where he later expired.

Deputy Luis Ortiz of the Crawford County Sheriff Office noted clear conditions and dry pavement at the time of the accident, which occurred at 10:05 am according to the report.
