According to booking information, the individual may be 39-year-old Anthony Scott Self from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who was released from custody on June 18, 2025.

The incident occurred earlier this week when law enforcement officers, present at the post office for an unrelated matter, observed suspicious behavior from a man, potentially Self.

Upon engaging him, officers conducted a search of the individual and his vehicle, uncovering a significant quantity of suspected illegal drugs and drug distribution paraphernalia. The man was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

In addition to drug-related charges, the man faces multiple citations, though the complete list of offenses has not been disclosed. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation remains active, with the possibility of additional charges pending.

While authorities have not officially confirmed the suspect’s identity, speculation points to Self due to his recent arrest and release in Madison County for drug-related charges.

According to mugshot information, Self, who was initially booked on possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia charges, has been the only individual arrested on drug charges in Madison County this week.

Further details are expected to emerge following the suspect’s formal arraignment.
