Arkansas State Police releases report detailing pedestrian accident that claimed Fort Smith youth

The Arkansas State Police has released the preliminary report fr0om the F0ort Smith Police Department outlining the incident that lead to the death of an unidentified 13-year-old Fort Smith youth on Tuesday.

According to the FSPD, the victim was crossing he road in the 3700 block of Grand Avenue from the south side when he was struck by a a 2011 GMC pick-up truck traveling east on Grand Avenue in the second lane from the curb.

The impact sent the victim airborne, who came to rest in the westbound lane closest to the curb.

The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.

Officer Mike Malone noted clear weather conditions and dry roadways at the time of the accident.
