Arkansas State Police arrests Little Rock man after shooting incident at Berryville hospital on Saturday

BERRYVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a shooting that occurred at Mercy Hospital in Berryville on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the request of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).


The incident involves William Kevin Rose, a 25-year-old Little Rock resident, who was arrested earlier that day by the Eureka Springs Police Department for aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Rose was transported to Mercy Hospital for medical treatment following his arrest.


While receiving care, Rose allegedly seized a service weapon from a CCSO deputy and fired two rounds inside the hospital. No injuries were reported. Hospital staff quickly intervened, subduing and disarming Rose before he fled into a nearby wooded area.


A coordinated search by the Berryville Police Department and CCSO deputies led to Rose’s recapture. He was subsequently transported to the Carroll County Detention Center.


Rose faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault on an Employee of a Correctional Facility, Theft, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing, Battery, Making Terroristic Threats, and


The investigation remains ongoing, with ASP authorities working to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
