According to reports released by the Arkansas State Police and posted on the Department of Public Safety website, an Elkins man died Friday night in a one vehicle accident on Madison County Road 5340 and a motorcyclist from Palatine, Illinois was killed Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving overturned on State Highway 23 near the intersection of Madison County Road 1350.

The Friday accident involved a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 that was traveling eastbound on Madison 5340. The vehicle drove off the roadway on the right hand side striking an embankment and caused it to overturn. The truck came to rest on its top.

The driver of the truck, 49-year-old Jason Wayne Miller of Elkins, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Madison County Funeral home. The accident was worked by the Madison county sheriff's department and officer Cooper Smith noted clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the accident.

The second accident occurred at 2:45 Saturday afternoon in rural Madison County.

While attempting to negotiate a right-hand turn Lucous lost control and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The bike overturned and the driver and passenger were both thrown from the motorcycle.
