Truck-auto accident this week in Madison County claims the life of a 40-year-old Huntsville woman


A Madison County woman was killed in an accident earlier in the week in a crash involving a Peterbilt eighteen-wheeler, according to the Arkansas State Police.


The ASP reported the death of Erica Johnson, 40, of Huntsville Tuesday in the morning accident on US Highway 412 inside the Hindsville city limits, The preliminary report was delayed by two days and posted on Thursday by the Arkansas Department of Safety.


According to that report, Johnson was driving a 2010Ford Fusion eastbound on US Highway 412 at 8:24 Tuesday morning when the Peterbilt attempted to turn onto the highway traveling east. The front of the Fusion clipped the left front of the eighteen-wheeler and both vehicles came to rest partially on the highway and the shoulder of the road.


The driver of the Peterbilt, who was not injured \, was not identified.


Trooper Seth Pinner reported clear conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the impact.
