Yell County Sheriff details drug arrest from earlier in October
Sheriff Bill Gilkey announced today the arrest of a Gravelly man earlier this mom\th on charges related to the possession of controlled substances with the intent to deliver.
Chief Deputy John Foster said that Michael Lynn Workman, 54, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Plainview.
Foster said that a deputy reported observing a vehicle pulling a trailer without a license while on patrol and identified Workman as the driver after he stopped the vehicle.
Foster said that the deputy alleged that he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and also alleged that a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of several types of drugs including methamphetamines, marijuana and presription medications as well as drug paraphernalia.
Workman was released from the Yell County Detention Facility on October 12, 2018, after he posted a $5,000 bond.
He awaits the filing of formal charges by Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum of Danville, and appearances in Yell County Circuit Court before Judge Jerry Don Ramey.
