Pocola Lady Indian split Friday road games to start weekend road trip
The Pocola Lady Indians split their two game set on the road in Tulsa on Friday, shutting out Tushka 7-0 but falling 10-6 to perennial powerhouse Tulsa Union in games player at Couch Park.
That moved the th Lady Indians into Saturday games with Checotah and Perry, meaning the Pocola ladies will have played eight regular season games in just six days.
In the win over Tushka, Kenda Chitwood took the victory on the mound, giving up just three hits and issuing just one walk in the complete game performance.
Kyla Abdulla and Kenzie Tuck each scored a pair of tuns for th Lady Indians and Chitwood, Shakyra Gladdness and Madison Linker each added single tally. Chitwood had three RBI's, clearing the fence in left field and plating Tuck and Gladness in the fourth inning.
In the loss to Union , Gladness three a complete game for Lady Indians, allowing a dozen hits and ten runs over seven innings and recording just one strike out.
Union plated five runs in the first before Pocola pulled within 5-3 in the second. Union added another five runs in the fifth and the Lady Indians closed the count to the 10-6 margin with three tuns in the home half ofhe stanza.
Amanda Rapin had a home tun in the fifth inning and the Lady Indians collected 12 hits.
Kena Chitwood, Emma Damato, and Kenzie Tuck all had multiple hits for Pocola Chitwood led the Lady Indians with four hits in four at bats.
