4A #3 Lady Bulldogs Look To Capture Checotah Gold; Bulldogs Seek First Tourney Title

(MULDROW, OK)-- Although a new day dawns today in eastern Oklahoma, the song remains the same for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs. Eat, sleep, WIN, repeat...

The latest rankings, released earlier this week, have Coach Jana Armer's troops at #3 in the state, behind Harrah and Fort Gibson, respectively, but if you ask the Lady Bulldogs what this means, the answer is simple. Absolutely nothing.

To their fans, the ranking is another sign of the times. To the players, the number is just a number until the 4A State Championship comes home to Muldrow.

The next stop on the 2017-18 tour will land the Ladies and the Bulldogs in Checotah, Oklahoma, for the 2018 Checotah Crossroads Invitational Tournament. The opening round, beginning at 4:00PM this afternoon, pits the Lady Bulldogs against a reeling Checotah Lady Wildcats team, currently coming off a 58-25 road meltdown to the Sequoyah County Area Classic runner-up Roland Lady Rangers.

The last time Muldrow met Checotah, December 1st, 2017, the Lady Bulldogs stamped a 60-33 tag on the cats. Nonetheless, the mission tonight is simple. Set the pace for the tournament, and leave quietly with the gold.

For those who are unable to attend the tournament, all Muldrow games will be heard LIVE on Today In Fort Smith.com at our Muldrow Bulldogs page. Clint Davis and Dennis McCaslin will have all your play-by-play and color commentary for the Lady Bulldogs.

On the boys side of play, the Muldrow Bulldogs seek their first tournament title of the season, as they begin play at 5:30PM against the Eufaula Ironheads. Coming off a 3rd place finish in the Sequoyah County Area Classic on January 6th, the biggest obstacle ahead of the Bulldogs is the runner-up in Sequoyah County; the fast-paced, high-scoring Vian Wolverines. The Bulldogs were upended in the semifinals of the SCAC by Vian.

The Bulldogs can also be heard on Today In Fort Smith.com on our Muldrow Bulldogs page. Dennis McCaslin will handle play-by-play duties for the boys, with Clint Davis on color commentary.
